Garbage & Recycling Collection
Penn Township requires all residents to have mandatory trash and recycling pickup. Since Valley Landfill is located in Penn Township, the Commissioners’ have passed some of the township’s revenues from the landfill as reduced garbage collection fees to the residents. Penn Township’s rates for garbage collection are the lowest around.
Your garbage and recycling will be picked up on the same day of the week, but your recycling will only be picked up every other week. Your day of the week is based on your street name. Click Here, to find your day of the week.

Rates in 2017
You will automatically be enrolled in the program and scheduled to receive a Recycling Cart. Standard service will be charged at $14.55 per month OR $43.65 per quarter.
Senior Program
Senior citizens may choose to use the established Bag Program instead of the standard refuse collection. To qualify for the program, senior citizens, those aged 65 or older, should contact Republic by December 20 to register to participate in the Senior Citizen Bag Program or to confirm that they are registered to participate.
Seniors residents must purchase a sheet of 5 garbage tags for $12.50 for use on garbage bags and Bulky Items at the township office at 2001 Municipal Court, Harrison City, PA 15636 or by contacting the local Republic office.
